Student Meal Plans and Dining Dollars

Dining plans are easy to use and offer convenient options. Use your Cougar Card to access the plan and take advantage of the numerous dining choices the campus has to offer. Freshmen living in campus residences are required to purchase an approved dining plan. For further information, please visit our Meal Plans page or contact Campus Services HQ

Library access, checking out materials, and printing

Active Cougar Cards are required for students to tap into and out of the Addlestone Library. The Cougar Card functions as a library card when presented at the Access and Instruction Desk to check out materials. Each semester, students are allocated $15 of free printing. Should you exceed this amount, the Cougar Cash account linked to your Cougar Card must be used to purchase additional pages.

Campus Recreation Services

A comprehensive fitness facility is centrally located on the first floor of Sterling - Campus Center apartments at 50 George Street. The 15,000 square-foot workout space is open seven days a week and includes state-of-the-art cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights and benches, lockers and showers. Just use your Cougar Card for full access.

Unwind with recreation services available at the Stern Center where there is a game room and bikes available to rent free of charge. Basketball and racquetball courts are available for use at the Johnson/Silcox recreation center. Just swipe your Cougar Card to enter each facility. For further details regarding campus recreation options, visit the Campus Recreation Services web page.

Attend College of Charleston sporting events free of charge

Students are admitted to regular season home events free of charge with your Cougar Card. Visit the College of Charleston Athletics website for schedules and further details. Go Cougars!

Purchase discounted event tickets

College of Charleston students are eligible to receive free and discounted tickets to non-athletic events on campus. Some free events on campus do require tickets for entry, and all non-athletic events are ticketed through the George Street Box Office.

Transportation services free of charge

The College of Charleston has partnered with the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) to provide free bus service throughout Charleston County. Simply present your Cougar Card and you can ride for free on all CARTA buses or shuttles. A separate bus pass is not required. Schedule and route information may be obtained at Ridecarta.com. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!

College of Charleston Bike Share is a safe, healthy, sustainable and fun way to get around Charleston. As a Bike CofC participant, just swipe your Cougar Card to check out a bike from the Stern Student Center information desk and return by the end of the day. The service is free for students! Tap to enter your assigned residence hall

Residential facilities with Information Desks that are staffed 24 hours a day require the Cougar Card be presented and tapped each time a resident enters the building. The Cougar Card will only provide access to the assigned residence hall. For complete policy information please visit the Residence Life web page.

Use as a personal debit card to access funds in your Cougar Cash account

The Cougar Cash account allows you to draw on pre-deposited funds to purchase products and services on campus. To make a purchase, simply present your Cougar Card at any participating location and the funds will be withdrawn from your account.

Card Activation

The Cougar Card is designed to last through your entire student experience. The privilege to use College facilities and services accessed via the card are active when you are enrolled in the current academic term. Activation is automatic and does not require any action. Active students not enrolled in summer terms may elect to pay a fee for use of recreation facilities during the summer. Privileges end for the spring term on May 31; fall term ends when the College closes for the December holiday break. Please contact Campus Recreation Services, 843.953.5559 for further details.
