Cougar Cash for Faculty and Staff

The Cougar Card becomes a personal debit card when you open a Cougar Cash Account. The Cougar Cash Account allows you to draw on pre-deposited funds to purchase products and services on campus. To make a purchase, simply present your Cougar Card at any participating location and the funds will be withdrawn from your account. You can access your balance and transaction history using the Cougar Card Portal or obtain a complete account statement at Cougar Card Services. To open a Cougar Cash Account simply make a deposit.

Cougar Cash Depositing

In Person – Cougar Card Services, 162-A Calhoun Street during service hours Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Deposits may be made using cash, check, and money order, or any major credit card. Funds will be active immediately. The minimum deposit is $5.

In Person – Card Value Center, Addlestone Library deposit as little as $1 for immediate use. Only cash accepted at this location.

Online – Faculty and Staff are now able to add funds to their cards via MyCharleston. Deposits are not in real time and are subject to a two hour delay before they will be available for use so please plan ahead before using this option. The minimum deposit is $5.

Electronic checks and all major credit cards may be used for online deposits. Deposits are not subject to a convenience fee and will be available within two hours. A check returned for insufficient funds will result in the loss of eCheck deposit privilege.

Please follow these instructions on how to make these deposits that have been provided by the treasurer’s office.

  1. Go to “My Accounts” tab on MyCharleston
  2. Select “Log onto eBill Account” (located at the bottom left of page) and click on “Open my eBill Account”
  3. Select “eDeposits” tab at the top of the screen
  4. Select current Term
  5. Select deposit account (Cougar Cash or Dining Dollars)
  6. Add payment amount and click on continue
  7. Select payment method (eCheck or any major credit card)
  8. Submit payment
  9. Once payment is submitted a confirmation will display, which may be printed for your records.

The College of Charleston is prohibited by law from performing banking transactions and therefore cannot make full or partial refunds to cardholders while still employed by the College of Charleston. Cash may not be withdrawn from the Cougar Cash Account and the card will not function as an ATM card.

Cougar Cash Account Features

Easy. It’s easy to start a Cougar Cash Account by simply making a deposit.

Safe. Carrying the Cougar Card is safer than carrying cash, checks, ATM or other cards. Your account number is not printed on the card.

Automatic. Transaction time is fast and your funds roll over from semester-to-semester and year-to-year.

Savings. There are no monthly service charges or fees and there is no required minimum balance.

Convenient. No hunting for change or stopping at the ATM, simply present your Cougar card for campus purchases.

Cougar Cash Account Closure

The Cougar Cash Account will be closed if the cardholder ceases to be an employee of the College of Charleston. Cougar Card Services will refund the account balance after receipt of a written request. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check and will be available in four to six business days. No refunds will be issued for account balances less than $10. The College of Charleston reserves the right to close any account that is inactive for eighteen months or more. Balances in accounts that are inactive for more than 18 months will be reclaimed.

The Employee Cougar Card Agreement Form is signed at Cougar Card Services when the first card is obtained. It describes the terms and conditions of the Cougar Cash Account.

Cougar Cash Refund Form is used to close a Cougar Cash Account when the cardholder ceases to be an employee of the College of Charleston.
